Welcome to Victory Baptist Church    2261 Armstrong Mill Rd, Lexington, KY 40515

Our Mission
Our mission is to lead all people to know and treasure Jesus above all things.
(2 Cor. 5:20, Rev. 5:9, Matt. 13:44-46, John 17:3, Col. 1:15-20)

Our Strategy
We will accomplish this by encouraging and equipping disciples of Jesus who joyfully pursue intimacy with God, imitation of Jesus, interaction with believers and influence in their world. (i4 disciples) (Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 1:16-20, John 15:4-5, 1 John 2:6, John 17:21-22, Matt.5:13-15)

The i4 pursuit is a lifelong process. The baseline for our disciples may be visualized like this:

Our Core Values
As we live out our mission and strategy in the world, we want to be a people who are…

Passionate for God – living wholehearted lives of worship that shape every moment and action for God’s glory and the spreading of His fame. (Is. 26:8, 43:7, 1 Cor.10:31. Eph. 3:20-21, 1 Peter 4:10-12, Rev .4:11).

Biblically Shaped – believing that God has revealed His heart, ways and absolute truth in His written Word, we look to the Bible as the standard and authority for all aspects of our life together. (Acts 2:42, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, James 1:22)

Pursuing Authentic Community with each other, being honest about our lives and faith-journeys, accepting accountability, and embracing both the privileges and responsibilities of meaningful membership in a faith family. (Acts 2:41-42, 44, 46, Matt.18:15-18, John 13:34-35, Col. 3:12-15, 1 Thess. 5:14)

Compassionate Missionaries in our world by engaging the people of our generation and their cultures as they are so they might encounter Jesus as He is—“the Way, the Truth and the Life”. This includes meeting the real-life needs of the least & last, and welcoming the left-out as a way of demonstrating the generosity of Jesus. (Acts 2:45-47, 17:16 -34; Matt. 5:13-16, 25:31-46; Luke 10:29-37, Jn.14:6, 1 Cor. 9:19 -27)

Extending the Borders of God’s Kingdom – by maintaining an outward focus, partnering with other groups that help us advance the gospel, and being intentional about multiplying Great Commission, gospel-centered churches and ministries in our city, country and among the nations. (Acts 2:5-11, 16:6-10: Luke 24:46-49, Rev.5:9)

Marked by Audacious & Joyful Faith – trusting God for an impact beyond any earthly explanation and with a hopeful longing to see lives utterly transformed by Him, we will saturate our ministry with desperate prayer, be sensitive and courageous to follow the Spirit’s slightest prompting --even when led past our experience, comfort or understanding—for faith is always an adventure! (Acts 2:1 & 37-41, 3:1-16, 4:23 -31, Matt. 10:17-29, 14:22 -33, Luke 4:18-19, Eph. 3:20-21, Heb.11:6, 1 Peter 4:12 -19)

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.                 Acts 1:8 (NKJ)
