Partners: Prayers and Praises

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. -Philippians 1:3-5

A vital part of Victory’s mission to “lead all people to know and treasure Jesus above all things” is partnering with church planters locally, nationally, and internationally. The information below will help you pray for our partners and remain up-to-date on the work God is doing through them. Items in bold have been added or updated from the previous month.

Church in Versailles
Mosaic Church in Versailles, KY is a new church plant led by Pastor Todd Probus. Mosaic launched in September 2008 and currently meets in a school gym. Victory has partnered with Mosaic by providing financial, prayer, and ministry support. Below are ways to pray for Mosaic as well as praise God for the progress they are seeing.

Prayers:

  • Continue to pray that the unreached and unchurched of Versailles will be connected to Christ
  •  Pray that Mosaic’s new website will be an impactful tool in drawing people to church and, more importantly, to Christ. They are in the design phase and hope to have it launched by mid-March.
  • Pray that their upcoming publicity blitz will increase awareness of Mosaic in the community, and will empower Mosaic’s people to invite their disconnected friends/neighbors to hear about Jesus.
  • That the people of Mosaic are stirred to passionate worship, discipleship, ministry, and prayer.  Also pray for a genuine since of community among the fellowship.
  • Many unsaved have been attending Mosaic. Pray that they would accept God’s grace and forgiveness.  Specifically pray for Lance, a young Catholic who has been to Mosaic the past two weekends. Both times he has had intense questions about the Gospel.
  • New Wednesday night small groups(starting tonight) have started. Pray that they will foster fellowship and discipleship among Mosaic. We are offering Financial Peace University and a series based on the book "The Prodigal God" by Timothy Keller. Response to both groups has been outstanding.

Praises:

  • Pastor Todd’s health was prayer request last month.  Praise God nothing was found on his cancer screening!
  • They have had to add a second rack of chairs for Sunday gatherings. People are having trouble finding seats...always a good problem to have.

David and Colleen Hewitt in Mansfield, TX
David and Colleen, along with their daughters Reilly and Maddison, serve as church planting interns at The Community at Lakeridge in Mansfield, TX. The Hewitts are members of Victory and we have been supporting them financially as they serve and prepare for future church planting.  Please pray for them and thank God for the progress in their ministry.

Prayers:

  • Pray for God’s skill and guidance for David as he builds and leads the small group ministry team. He is currently overseeing this ministry throughout the year.
  • Pray for wisdom for Colleen as she uses new skills in production arts ministry.
  • Pray for David and Colleen to receive mercy and provision as they continue to hold secular jobs while ministering in Texas.

Praises:

  • Colleen had the opportunity to have a leadership role in the production arts ministry.
  • Reilly and Maddison have adjusted well to their new schools and are handling homesickness well.

South Asia Partners: Matt, Shannon, and Rafique
Matt and Shannon are former members of Victory who currently serve in South Asia. Rafique (name changed for security) is a native of S. Asia and serves as a full-time evangelist on their ministry team. Victory has partnered with Matt and Shannon through prayer support and the adoption of their people group since 2008. We also financially support Rafique so he is able to devote himself to sharing the gospel and planting churches. Please pray for them as they faithfully make disciples and start churches.

Prayers:

  • A nearby village has been facing intense persecution.  Please pray that God will sustain his people during this difficult time and that each believer will remain faithful.  Pray that those who have renounced Jesus will return no matter the cost.
  • Pray for Matt and Shannon as they try to reach their friends with the gospel.
  • Pray for safety as they try to reach the unchurched.
  • Rafique leads a house church and has 5 seekers attending. Ask God to open their hearts to the truth of the Christ.
  • Rafique faithfully shares the good news with everyone he meets. Pray that those who hear the gospel will be drawn to Jesus.
  • The team has placed many fliers throughout their city that contains information about Jesus and the gospel. Rafique’s contact information is on the flier so those interested will contact him. Please pray that these fliers will stir hearts towards Jesus and for Rafique in each follow-up opportunity.
  • Pray for Rafique’s brother who is not a believer.

Praises:

  • Rafique was able to spend a week in his home town during an annual festival.  During this time, him and his team were able to share the gospel with hundreds of individuals and hand out Bibles.  This is a praise and a prayer request as we lift up those who have heard the gospel.
  • During his time back home, Rafique was able to witness his father, one brother and two sisters come to know and trust Jesus!!  Praise God for their new life and pray for them as they share with the rest of the community.
  • Praise God for 14 people saved in their area and neighboring district!
