A WORD FROM THE DEACON CHAIR
Being an Intentional Christian
The word intentional has popped up several times in conversation recently. I am beginning to think that it is a new trendy saying that shows one is in-the-know if used correctly. Webster’s Dictionary defines intentional as “having to do with intention or purpose, or done purposely.” That’s easy to understand. Maybe it is being used more frequently to clarify that the speaker expects something to be done with purpose, as opposed to an unintentional action. I can unintentionally run into someone at the grocery store, but it is an intentional act to call someone I haven’t seen for a few weeks and say “I’m calling to tell you I’ve missed you and want to see how you’re doing.”
I know which action means more to me, the one that was done intentionally out of love and concern. God intentionally sent Christ, in human form, to show his love for us. Jesus preached, healed, performed miracles, and died on a cross to intentionally demonstrate His love and perfect plan of salvation. These acts were done with an obvious purpose.
As we move forward into a new time in the life of our church, let’s do so with Christ-like intention. Let’s worship, love, pray, read scripture, serve, encourage, hug, fellowship, seek, speak, reach out, and hope as Christians with a purpose. Paul wrote to the church at Corinth “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV) After two thousand years, Paul’s challenge has not lost its purpose. God will be glorified when we intentionally seek to be in His will.
Let’s be intentional Christians in every area of our lives.
In His Love,

FLiP KIDS (K-5th Grade)
It's time to start LIVING INSIDE OUT!
Living Inside Out is the new Sunday morning curriculum for our K-5th grade children. This new format will provide a large group time of praise and worship and still provide the nurturing and close relationships of their small group. Kids will learn one important Bible point each week which is reinforced through Bible stories, verses, songs & hands-on activities that help kids know more about living out their belief in Jesus. Come be a part of Sunday mornings with us and bring a friend!
Wednesday nights @ 6:33 pm
All children ages K-5th grade are encouraged to join us for a time of Bible study, games & music with Team Kid: Character Challenge! Each week kids will learn a new character trait God wants them to develop. Ranging from honesty to joy, the topics challenge children to make that character trait part of their lives.
