FROM YOUR INTERIM PASTOR

As reported at our last business meeting, the Senior Pastor Search Committee is hard at work. We have been asking for the congregation to hold them up in prayer. But there is more we can do.  We have a tendency to put all church matters on hold until a new pastor arrives.  And for some matters that is a wise decision. But in other areas we need to move beyond a holding pattern. For instance, one of the best receptions you can offer a new pastor is a growing worship community. Inviting folks to both LifeGroups and the worship service is something we ought to be doing now. I have been most impressed with the people who are part of this congregation. Victory has something very special to offer and we do not need to be waiting to extend invitations. When the day comes for the Search Committee to invite someone to meet the congregation, a wonderful reception would be a worship service filled to overflowing.

Summer is close at hand. Vacations are on our minds and in our plans. I am making my own plans. But let us remember our commitments to our congregation. If you are out of town remember that God still hears our prayers for the church.  And the church needs our financial support regardless of whether we are in actual attendance or not. Enjoy the summer. But also remember your family at Victory.

I hope to share worship with you soon.

STUDENT MINISTRY
(grades 6-12)

Leaders Needed For Camp
July 11-17 the student ministry will travel to Panama City Beach, FL to be part of Big Stuf Camps (yes, that's stuff with one "f"). We are still in need of leaders who would be willing to soak up some sun, participate in a phenomenal worship experience, and help make an impact on a student's life. As with any trip, student safety is our number one priority. The best way to insure their safety is to have an adequate number of leaders. If you're interested in getting involved with the student ministry or just want to help with this one trip, please contact Patrick.

We also ask that you begin praying that through this event we can display the grace and love of Christ so these families will ‘know and treasure Jesus above all things.’
