FROM YOUR INTERIM PASTOR

Memorial Day Weekend is the official start of summer in the minds of many. School will be out and vacation times will begin (I think my nine-year-old granddaughter can tell me how many minutes are left in the school year!). There is certainly nothing wrong with vacations or at least I hope not for I’m planning on taking some weeks myself. But we do need to be careful that we do not “vacation” from our church and ministry responsibilities and then plan on picking them up again in the fall. The work of the kingdom of God is far too important to be set aside. Take your vacation time and be safe and have fun. But also do your part for your congregation as well.

It is encouraging to receive notes from visitors to our Sunday services requesting more information about the church and how to become a member. In one sense I am an outsider to Victory as I will leave when a new pastor comes on the field. As an outsider in that sense, I can say that you have a most impressive congregation and very much to offer. I am very optimistic with respect to the future of the congregation.

Have a good summer.

STUDENT MINISTRY
(grades 6-12)

Student Fundraising
As the school year comes to a close and summer begins to warm things up, the student ministry is wanting to offer it's services to the church as a way to help raise money for camp and other student ministry activities.

If you are in need of a baby sitter,
or someone to do yard work
or other odd jobs
just contact Patrick at patrick@vbclex.org and he will make the proper arrangements to have a student/students come help you.

All donations go directly to youth ministry activities.

Student Camp
Camp is just over a month away.
All camp balances are due no later than the end of June.
Contact Patrick if you have any questions or concerns.

Student Parent
Camp Meeting

The student ministry will have a meeting for parents of students going to camp on June 27, following the worship service, in the youth room.

Lunch will be provided.

Parents are STRONGLY encouraged to attend this meeting, which will provide them with important information about camp as well as an opportunity to ask any last minute questions or address concerns.

PRESCHOOL AND CHILDREN

The shelter has plenty of picnic tables, and is very near the playground, and restrooms. Please come and invite friends to join us! A map of the park can be found at www.lexingtonky.gov/parkrentals. Please contact Joyce if you have any questions.
