FROM YOUR INTERIM PASTOR It is a time of excitement and anticipation for the Victory family. As has been reported by the search committee they are making progress and hopefully in the not so far future the congregation will have a new pastor. Fall programs are beginning and a new church year with teachers and new classes (or perhaps a renewal of some established classes) are starting. It seems to me we have had a good number of visitors blessing us with their presence on Sundays. I hope we are blessing them as well. We have also noticed that attendance is up with the beginning of school and as vacation times are winding down. Victory has so much to offer and I do pray you are sharing an invitation with those looking for a church home to come and visit with us. On September 19, at 5:00 PM, we have an ordination service for Philip Jones as he will be ordained into the Gospel Ministry. This is a great time for any congregation and we are truly blessed with the opportunity to add our blessings to the life and calling of Philip and his family. Make a special effort to be here that evening for the service. It was in September of last year I was first invited to preach at Victory. The past year has been a blessing for me as I have gotten to know you and share with you in worship and times of fellowship. Thank you for the opportunity to be with you. 10/10/10 Special Giving Campaign On October 10, 2010, Victory will celebrate our 18th anniversary as a church. In celebration of this event, the church has voted to set a goal to pay off the remaining mortgage on our building, which is currently $22,628. In support of this effort, we will be collecting a special offering for six weeks, starting August 29 and ending October 3. Special Building Fund envelopes will be included in the bulletin each week during this period. Please designate 10/10/10 on any checks so that we will know that it is to be applied to this campaign. We ask each family to consider giving a special financial gift in a multiple of $10. Our church goal for this campaign is $5,000, though we would like to raise as much money toward the total mortgage as possible. At the end of the campaign, any remaining outstanding balance will be covered by the sale of the church's mutual fund. We ask that you prayerfully consider what amount God would have you give.
STUDENT MINISTRY (grades 6-12) Multi-Purpose Room Finally Looks like a Youth Room After long hours of work on both Friday 8/20 and Saturday 8/21, the youth room is finally taking it's new shape. With additions of tables, stools, blinds, curtains, new wall colors, and a stage, the students at Victory now have a place they can call their own. It's our hope that with these changes, students and their friends will find the youth room as an environment that encourages students to relax, open up, and feel comfortable talking about the Bible.	PRESCHOOL AND CHILDREN Congratulations! Please join us in celebrating with Jeff and Amber Cox: Karson Jeffrey Cox was born on August 21. Discipleship Classes For Men The VBC Men's Ministry will offer a discipleship class on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm beginning September 8.
