South Asia Partners: Matt, Shannon, and Rafique Matt and Shannon are former members of Victory who currently serve in South Asia. Rafique (name changed for security) is a native of South Asia and serves as a full-time evangelist on their ministry team. Victory has partnered with Matt and Shannon through prayer support and the adoption of their people group since 2008. We also financially support Rafique so he is able to devote himself to sharing the gospel and planting churches. Please pray for them as they faithfully make disciples and start churches. Praises and Prayer Concerns: I (Matt) continue to rejoice in the way that Rafique is faithfully sowing the gospel seed and in the way that God is being faithful to raise up more laborers through him. I think you've heard about the new jamaat that two of Rafique' disciples are leading? We are excited about this new jamaat (house church), but I am especially excited because his two disciples are not from a Muslim background. (This is a first in our city!) They are from a Hindu background and face a good deal of persecution from their own fathers and family. Please pray for them. But they are being faithful. I continue to meet with all three each week to help and spur them on in preparing that week's message. I can see the lights coming on each time, and I'm praying that, in addition to our time together each week, these 2 disciples are mining the riches of God's Word for their own and their sheep's sake. Praise the Lord that one husband and wife have newly begun attending this new jamaat and have both confessed their sins and prayed to receive Isa! Please pray that the gospel will take deep root in their lives, and that they will treasure Christ above all and be willing to follow their new Lord in believer's baptism soon. Please also continue to remember Rafique' future support. We are praying for some kind of business income that can replace his current support from Victory. We are now considering options outside of the leather industry as we still have had no glimmers of hope with regard to a foreign market for the leather goods (mainly ladies bags). Thank you for your continued support and prayer. |

Christel Hatcher: Victory member and missionary in Taiwan
Christel is a member of Victory Baptist Church and serves in Taiwan as an English teacher. She also serves at an orphanage in the area. Praises and Prayer Concerns: Christel Hatcher is serving in Kaohsiung, Taiwan as a teacher at an international Christian school called Morrison Christian Academy. She also volunteers with His Hands Taiwan, an orphanage and a home for unwed mothers in crisis pregnancies. Through her work at Morrison, at His Hands, and through opportunities to interact with local friends, Christel is sharing Christ’s love and the message of the Gospel with the people of Taiwan. Please lift her up in prayer as she faces language, cultural, and spiritual barriers. Pray for God to break down the strongholds of idol and ancestor worship and false religion in Taiwan. Pray for God to open doors for Christel to share the Truth with those God places in her path, especially her students. For more specific information on how to pray for Christel and her ministry, please visit her blog christeljayne.wordpress.com/prayer-points.
