Partners: Prayers and Praises
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
-Philippians 1:3-5

A vital part of Victory's mission to "lead all people to know and treasure Jesus above all things" is partnering with church planters locally, nationally, and internationally. The information below will help you pray for our partners and remain up-to-date on the work God is doing through them.

Church in Versailles

Mosaic Church in Versailles, KY is a new church plant led by Pastor Todd Probus Mosaic launched in September 2008 and currently meets in a school gym.  Victory has partnered with Mosaic by providing financial, prayer, and ministry support.

To find out more, please visit their website: Mosaicversailles.com

Praises and Prayer Concerns:

  • We just finished a great semester of connection groups. Taking the summer off from small groups, and will be having casual summer bible study fellowships every other Wednesday night until school starts in August.
  • Postponing new member class until August due to busy sports schedules.
  • Beginning preparations for our Back To School Ministry event in early August.
  • Planning separate events for Womens and Mens Ministries for this fall.
  • A lot of turmoil within some of our church's families. A lot of hurting going on.
  • Our outreach starting this summer that will target new residents of Versailles.
  • Some very targeted outreach efforts to segments of Versailles' population that we feel are marginalized and disconnected from church.
Thank you to VBC for your support and prayers. It is much appreciated.

David and Colleen Hewitt in Mansfield, TX

David and Colleen, along with their daughters Riley and Madison, serve as church-planting interns at The Community at Lakeridge in Mansfield, TX. The Hewitts are members of Victory and we have been supporting them financially as they serve and prepare for future church planting. Please pray for them and thank God for the progress in their ministry.

Praises and Prayer Concerns:

  • We are continuing to face the challenges of being "church planters." Please continue to pray for us as we transition into a more permanent role at TCAL and at GHCN (Growing Healthy Churches Network). We are still having to raise about half of our support, which is challenging. But God has been so very good and faithful to our family and through our ministry. We continue to grow in grace, maturing to the full measure of what we are to be in Christ.
  • Please continue to pray for our family as we trust God in the present challenges. I (David) am continuing to train small group leaders as we have a growing need to provide biblical community for so many new people coming to TCAL. Our systems are experiencing growing pains.
  • Personally, please pray for our family as we learn to be faithful to the call and vision God has laid upon our hearts.
  • Thank you for your prayers and continued financial support. It has resulted in many thanksgivings and glory to God.
Thank you for your continued support of our family and ministry. We could not do what God has called us to do without your faithfulness. Thank YOU!!!!

South Asia Partners: Matt, Shannon, and Rafique

Matt and Shannon are former members of Victory who currently serve in South Asia. Rafique (name changed for security) is a native of South Asia and serves as a full-time evangelist on their ministry team. Victory has partnered with Matt and Shannon through prayer support and the adoption of their people group since 2008. We also financially support Rafique so he is able to devote himself to sharing the gospel and planting churches. Please pray for them as they faithfully make disciples and start churches.

Praises and Prayer Concerns:

I (Matt) continue to rejoice in the way that Rafique is faithfully sowing the gospel seed and in the way that God is being faithful to raise up more laborers through him. I think you've heard about the new jamaat that two of Rafique' disciples are leading? We are excited about this new jamaat (house church), but I am especially excited because his two disciples are not from a Muslim background. (This is a first in our city!) They are from a Hindu background and face a good deal of persecution from their own fathers and family. Please pray for them. But they are being faithful. I continue to meet with all three each week to help and spur them on in preparing that week's message. I can see the lights coming on each time, and I'm praying that, in addition to our time together each week, these 2 disciples are mining the riches of God's Word for their own and their sheep's sake.

Praise the Lord that one husband and wife have newly begun attending this new jamaat and have both confessed their sins and prayed to receive Isa! Please pray that the gospel will take deep root in their lives, and that they will treasure Christ above all and be willing to follow their new Lord in believer's baptism soon.

Please also continue to remember Rafique' future support. We are praying for some kind of business income that can replace his current support from Victory. We are now considering options outside of the leather industry as we still have had no glimmers of hope with regard to a foreign market for the leather goods (mainly ladies bags).

Thank you for your continued support and prayer.

Christel Hatcher: Victory member and missionary in Taiwan

Christel is a member of Victory Baptist Church and serves in Taiwan as an English teacher. She also serves at an orphanage in the area.

Praises and Prayer Concerns:

Christel Hatcher is serving in Kaohsiung, Taiwan as a teacher at an international Christian school called Morrison Christian Academy. She also volunteers with His Hands Taiwan, an orphanage and a home for unwed mothers in crisis pregnancies. Through her work at Morrison, at His Hands, and through opportunities to interact with local friends, Christel is sharing Christ’s love and the message of the Gospel with the people of Taiwan. Please lift her up in prayer as she faces language, cultural, and spiritual barriers. Pray for God to break down the strongholds of idol and ancestor worship and false religion in Taiwan. Pray for God to open doors for Christel to share the Truth with those God places in her path, especially her students. For more specific information on how to pray for Christel and her ministry, please visit her blog christeljayne.wordpress.com/prayer-points.
