Prayer Ministry

Prayer is the fuel that energizes the gospel-centered mission of Victory Baptist Church.  We are desperate for our Father’s manifest presence at every moment, for like Moses, we don’t want to move a muscle unless the Lord goes with us.  We are a needy people, unable to produce what we need, so we’re dependent on our Father’s provision for everything – love, hope, wisdom, healing, forgiveness, financial resources, servants who live out their gifts, vision and more.  We long for the Father’s kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is on heaven, for people from ‘every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev.5:9)to meet Jesus, be transformed and join us in worship around the throne for eternity. But we also know that mission is way too big for us, and so we’re desperate for His power in all we do.

We’re still growing in our understanding and practice of this kind of prayer.  Some time is reserved for prayer in every worship service and on Wednesday evenings. Life Groups often pray together.  But we want prayer to be more than an opening exercise when we meet.  We want prayer to be our oxygen.  We want to pray boldly, in radical faith, believing God and experiencing the same as our spiritual ancestors, who “when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:31)

An updated prayer list is available each Wednesday in Victory Central. Please feel free to email or call the church office to share prayer needs, updates and praises.
