What We Do

Senior Adults

We have adults of all lifestages as part of our faith-family—including those who have been on the journey with Jesus for a long time.  Since the Bible never mentions retirement in the Christian life (after all, Moses was 80 when he led Israel across the Red Sea!), we look for seniors to be vitally involved in every aspect of our life and mission -- from Life Groups to outreach, fellowship and special events.  And since we also know there are adults of this age group in our community who do not yet know Jesus as Savior and Lord, we also intend to “lead all senior adults to know and treasure Jesus above all things.”

Like our other ministries, a primary connection for our senior adults is Sunday morning.  LifeGroups (small groups geared around friendship, support, mission and Bible study) especially for seniors meet at 9:15 am, followed by our worship gathering at 10:30 am.

Another primary aspect of our ministry to seniors is Young@Heart, a fellowship for those age 55+. On the second Thursday of every month there is a pot-luck meal and a fun fellowship - anything from story-telling to a gospel-sing to a game of Wheel of Fortune. Young at Heart also regularly schedules trips and other outings throughout the year. Look for more information at the monthly pot luck, or in the church bulletin.
