Parent Resources

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself what occurred in your life that caused you to take the direction in life that you are currently taking in your life. What influenced your decision to go to college or not? What influenced you chose of college? What influenced you in choosing the career path you took? What influenced you to become the person you are today? Chances are, you had one or more experiences that, unaware to you at the moment, has helped mold you into the individual you are today. That is our desire as the Victory Student Ministry. We want to help create moments in a student's life that will influence them beyond their years in Middle school and High School. We hope to do this by impacting students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through these 4 Core values:

Equipping Parents
The Bible makes it very clear that parents are to be the primary spiritual shepherds of the children (Proverbs 22:6; Deut. 6:4-9; Psalm 78:1-7; Ephesians 6:4). Our ministry never wants to take away from a parents privilege of discipling their children. Instead, we want to steer students towards the authority of their parents while partnering with parents by better equipping them to disciple their children. In our culture today, it is not so uncommon for a parent figure to be absent. In these cases we want to do our best to point them to the father of the fatherless. (Psalm 68:5).

Establishing Spiritual Habits
As Christ followers, establishing spiritual habits are key to growing in one's faith with Jesus Christ. Reading scripture, praying daily, and putting one's spiritual convictions into actions are just some of the spiritual habits we encourage our students grab a hold of. (2 Tim. 3:16)

Creating Significant Adult Relationships
For many of us, we can look back in our lives and point out older individuals who had a large impact on the type of decisions we made. It may have been the high school senior as a middle school student, or the grandparent who filled in as a leader on a youth trip. Who ever they may have been, you looked up to them and often made decisions based on their example. Here in Victory's student ministry, we hope students can create significant adult relationships with Godly individuals, whom they can look to as Godly examples. (Titus 2)

Presenting Challenging Spiritual Experiences
For many students, their time in a student ministry are some of the most exciting years of their life. We hope to take these amazing years in a student's life and turn them also into experiences when a student has their "a ha" moment resulting in them laying down their life to Christ. After this, we continue to challenge our students by giving them opportunities to strengthen their faith and grow stronger from these experiences. It's only during the opportunities that a student has to express their faith do they experience the most growth. (James 1:22)
