We Believe... |
|
The Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is totally true and trustworthy, and is the supreme standard by which all opinion, conduct ad practice is to be measured. God is one, eternally revealing Himself in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—with no division of nature, essence or being. He is infinite in holiness and all other perfections
Man is the special creation of God, made male and female in His own image. By virtue of that creation, every person possesses inherit dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love. But it is also true that though man was created innocent, by his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin and an inescapable death penalty into the human race. Salvation involves the gracious act of God whereby human beings are provided rescue from sin and redemption of the whole person. It is offered freely to all who trust Jesus alone as their only Savior from sin, Lord of life and hope for heaven. God’s Purpose of Grace is seen in election, according to which, consistent with the free moral agency of man, He regenerates, justifies, sanctifies and glorifies sinners. All believers endure to the end, and those whom God has accepted in Christ and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end. This purpose is a display of God’s sovereign goodness; it excludes boasting and promotes humility. The Kingdom of God includes both His general sovereignty over the universe and His particular Kingship over people who willfully acknowledge Him as King. Christians pray and labor that the Kingdom may come and God’s will be done on earth. Last Things: God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to earth; the dead will be raised, and Christ will judge all men. The unrighteous will be consigned to hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous will receive their reward and will dwell forever with the Lord. |
