Welcome to the Victory Baptist Church web site!
We’re glad you stopped by today, and we hope you’ll enjoy wandering around this site and getting to know us better. Hopefully, that might lead you to drop by our meeting place in Lexington, so we can get to know you personally. Then, maybe we’ll get the privilege of sharing the journey of life and faith in Jesus with you.
That’s important because Victory Baptist Church is not this web site--a combination of dots and dashes, of images and links. It’s not a building on Armstrong Mill Road. It’s not a sponsor of religiously themed programs.
We are a church— and that’s something else altogether! A church is a community of people who have entered a relationship with Jesus, have oriented their lives around Him and His purposes, authentically share life together and have joined together to advance His mission of love, hope and life to the world.
A church is people. It’s a family, a movement, a community—all rolled into one. And every one of the people here has their own unique God-story to tell.
You see, we’re ordinary people, just like you, who have been forever changed from the inside out by the gospel of Jesus. What’s the gospel? It is the astoundingly good news that because of Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection, any person can come back Home to a relationship with God, be forgiven of all the mess, get a fresh start in life, discover why he or she is alive right now -- look forward to an eternity in heaven. It’s that beautiful reality that shapes us, defines everything are and everything we are becoming. That’s why we want all people to know and treasure Jesus above all things.
We’re people learning to walk in faith, love and hope. We’re single and married and divorced; black, white and Hispanic; well-to-do and on welfare; Ph.D’s and G.E.D.’s; at all life stages from younger children to more experienced (!) adults; factory workers, doctors and nurses, teachers, students, salespeople, homemakers, retirees and more; people who have been in church all their life and others who just started coming a few months ago. In other words, you will find somebody here like you --somebody who can relate to your story, and who will simply be your friend.
So, come see us when you get a chance. Let us know how we can serve you. If you’ve still got questions after you browse through, don’t hesitate to write david@vbclex.org. I’ll be glad to help any way I can.
Grace and hope, Pastor David Head
