Worship Gatherings |
|
The gathering of our faith family for worship each Lord’s Day is central to our life together. Worship is an encounter with God (Is. 6:1-8) in which His character is rejoiced over, His worth is declared, His purposes are recognized, His glory is celebrated. The focus of worship is the gospel of Jesus – His life, death on the cross and resurrection. (Heb.10:19-22) In worship we long for the Holy Spirit to engage our minds, stir our affections God-ward, and change our lives. Worship is about God, from beginning to end. In our worship gatherings, we use a variety of materials to help a diverse group of people meet God. We pray and read Scripture together. (1 Tim. 2:8, 4:13) We sing ancient hymns, as well as contemporary hymns and worship songs. (Eph. 5:19) We tell God-stories from our lives. (Ps.78:1-7) We use the arts -- playing instruments, multi-media, dance and more—to celebrate the full wonder of our King. (Ps.150) Our services are built around the proclamation and teaching of God’s Word in the Bible. That eternal Word is life-giving (Dt.8:3) and life-shaping (Ps. 19:7-11). It is crucial both for coming to know Jesus and living a life that treasures Him above all things (Rom. 10:17, 2 Tim. 3:14-17). What do I wear? On a typical Sunday, you will see everything from jeans to suits. Most people dress casually, but with modesty and respect for worship. What about young children? Preschool ministry is provided for children infant - preschool. Children, aged K-2, begin the worship service with everyone and then go to Children’s Church. Lord's Day Schedule |
